Newcom JWEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/19/19) — A Providence man faces charges after authorities reported confiscating several packages of marijuana with a street value of $7,000 along with $666 in cash and firearms.

Jarred Wayne Newcom, 23, was charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 5 pounds), possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree wanton endangerment today.

There were children living in the residence and would have access to marijuana and guns, Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield said. A deputy received a tip about illegal activity at a home off the 200 block of Nisbett Street and followed up with search warrant 11:52 p.m. Monday.

When authorities went to the residence, no one was home, WCSO reported, and then deputies made entry, finding drugs, marijuana, cash and firearms. Providence Police Department and Kentucky State Police assisted.

Newcom turned himself in at 4:47 a.m., the sheriff said. He was listed as being held in Webster County Jail today on $10,000 cash bond.
