Hopkins County Central StormPRINCETON, Ky. (10/8/19) — Hopkins County Central suffered heartbreak in the opening match of the 7th District Girls' Soccer Tournament. Host Caldwell County managed to edge the Lady Storm 2-1 on penalty kicks to win in the 7th District Girls' Soccer Tournament on Monday.

With the loss, Hopkins County Central ended its season 13-7.

Caldwell County improved to 12-6-2 and advanced to the 7th District Girls' Soccer Tournament title match with the win.

In regulation, Morgan McDaniels netted a goal to push Caldwell County out in front.

But the Lady Storm battled back.

Katelyn Cavanaugh scored a goal to allow Hopkins County Central to pull even.

Cavanaugh was the only Hopkins County Central player to find the net in the extra session.

Both McDaniels and Kaylee McEnaney connected on penalty kicks to lift Caldwell County to the victory.

Following the win, Caldwell County will meet Madisonville-North Hopkins in the 7th District Girls' Soccer Tournament title match at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
