Stewart JacobHARTFORD, Ky. (12/20/19) — Hartford Police Department reported investigating several burglaries and thefts Dec. 2-Sunday.

A Hartford resident told police they saw a man identified as Jacob Stewart breaking into vehicles at Lighthouse Church of God.

“The resident then chased him to a nearby business, where Stewart was apprehended by law enforcement without incident,” HPD Sgt. Robert Shocklee wrote in a press release.

Stewart, 21 of Hartford, was charged Sunday with eight counts of theft by unlawful taking (from vehicles/less than $500), six counts of second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking from a vehicle (more than $500).

He was listed as being held in Ohio County Jail on $3,000 cash bond and serving time on a misdemeanor charge.
