HATFIELD DOUGLASGREENVILLE, KY., — Douglas MacArthur Hatfield, 77, of Greenville passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on February 4, 1942 in Powderly, KY the son of Walter Swanson ‘Kite’ Hatfield and Aurelia Beatrice Phillips Hatfield.  He was a registered land surveyor for 50 years with the majority of his career spent working in Muhlenberg County. He served as a deacon at Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY and Second Baptist Church in Greenville, KY where he was a member for 41 years. He loved to fish, hunt, and play golf with his son and friends. He was a great fan of UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he delighted in spending time with his family.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his young son Kalen Hatfield (1970) a brother Bobby Gene Hatfield and a sister Martha Muriel Hatfield Alverson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11am at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with his son Dr. Jeremy Hatfield officiating assisted by Rev. Bob Thurman and Dr. Kevin Milburn. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Powderly, KY.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years Linda Sue Hatfield of Greenville, his son Dr. Jeremy (Amanda) Hatfield of Sahuarita, AZ., his daughter Kimberly (Kasey) Wilson of South Carrollton,

7 grandchildren Micah, Caleb, Silas, Rachel Hatfield, Kaden, Kyla, Kellen Wilson, a sister Marjorie (Jerry) Finley of Greenville, a sister-in-law Dean Hatfield of Powderly.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 5pm until 8pm at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
