Police LightCENTRAL CITY, Ky. (11/25/19) — Central City Police Department report five arrests were made Sunday morning after officers responded to 354 Kentucky 604 on a welfare check of a female.

Officer Justin Dockery and Sgt. Duane Davenport made contact with the female, spotted possible drugs and paraphernalia that prompted police to obtain a search warrant at 7:45 a.m.

Afterward, CCPD revealed several guns and illegal drugs were found resulting in the arrests of Chris Jarvis, 43 of Central City, Jimmie Springer, 51 of Drakesboro, 28-year-old David Cloud of Greenville, 22-year-old Jonathan Smith of Bremen and 26-year-old Samantha McCormick of Hartford.

Jarvis was charged with first-degree trafficking in synthetic drugs (weapon enhanced) first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine/weapon enhanced), third-degree possession of a controlled substance (weapon enhanced), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (enhanced).

Cloud was charged with first-degree trafficking in meth (second offense-weapon enhanced), possession of defaced firearm, convicted felon in possessor of handgun, and possession of drug paraphernalia (enhanced).

McCormick was charged with convicted felon in possession of a firearm and served outstanding warrants.

Springer was served outstanding warrants and Smith was charged with public intoxication.
