arrest handcuffs words grungy300DRAKESBORO, Ky. (9/27/19) — Police made two arrests yesterday afternoon at a Drakesboro residence including one person charged with drug trafficking.

Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and Muhlenberg County Sheriff officers saw a woman they knew to have an active arrest warrant at around 1 p.m. in her driveway at 141 Hilltop Lane. MCSO Detective Troy Gibson, who is assigned to the PNTF, and MCSO Deputy Alex Piper went back to speak with the woman but she had left the driveway. However, officers recognized that her vehicle was still at home.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, officers went in and found more than $2,000 worth of crystal meth, pills and what appeared to be heroin.

Gibson charged John D. Reid, 39, with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth – more than 2 grams – second offense; Piper charged Reid on three warrants and with theft of another without consent and knowingly/fraudulently using an ID card or electronic code for benefits; Brandi Kougher, 35, was charged on warrants for failure to appear. Both are being held in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

Also assisting with the search warrant were Muhlenberg Sheriff Ricki Allen, MCSO Detective Wade Griggs, K-9 Officer Will Ward and Deputy Jeremy Rose. Other agencies assisting were Probation and Parole and Muhlenberg EMS.

PNTF said more charges are possible.
