Football 2019LEXINGTON, Ky. (11/14/19) — The Kentucky Football Coaches Association has announced its 2019 Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year for each district in the state.

Area players and coaches are among the honorees.

The honorees will be recognized Dec. 6-8 at the state championship games at Kroger Field in Lexington. The district award-winners are finalists for Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors in each class.

The honorees from each district follow.

Class 6A
District 1 – Coach of the Year: Matt Brannon (Daviess County), Player of the Year: Franklin Hayes (McCracken County); District 2 – Coach of the Year: Brent Thompson (North Hardin), Player of the Year: Octavious Oxendine (North Hardin); District 3 – Coach of the Year: Scott Carmony (Manual), Player of the Year: Ja’Waun Northington (Manual); District 4 – Coach of the Year: Chris Wolfe (Male), Player of the Year: Izayah Cummings (Male); District 5 – Coach of the Year: Bob Beatty (Trinity), Player of the Year: Nathan McElroy (Trinity); District 6 –
Coach of the Year: Jeff Marksberry (Simon Kenton), Player of the Year: Chase Crone (Simon Kenton); District 7 – Coach of the Year: Jon Smith (Tates Creek), Player of the Year: Luke Doby (Tates Creek); District 8 – Coach of the Year: Oliver Lucas (George Rogers Clark), Player of the Year: Azariah Israel (George Rogers Clark).
