SpencerMADISONVILLE, Ky. (1/15/20) — Hopkins County Regional Chamber of Commerce has selected a new president to head the organization.

Libby Spencer of Madisonville will fill the position after previous Chamber president Leslie Curneal accepted another job, the Chamber reports.

Spencer, who currently serves as Madisonville Deputy Administrator, will begin transitioning into the role Feb. 3.

“We are very excited to welcome Libby Spencer to the Chamber,” immediate past board chairwoman Elizabeth Oldham said in a statement. “We know that she will be able to continue to lead this Chamber at its full potential.”

Spencer has held leadership roles for various nonprofit organizations, previously serving as United Way of the Coalfield director. Beforehand, she was the founding development director for Youth Entrepreneurs in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Hopkins County native is a Madisonville North Hopkins High School and Murray State University graduate.

“I am humbled to be chosen for this role and very grateful for the opportunity to serve an organization that brings together this great community to tackle complex issues and drive sustainable, positive change that will help our community thrive,” Spencer stated.
