CPF 1MADISONVILLE, Ky. (12/8/19) — Pride Elementary School captured the Grand Prize during the Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Christmas Parade held Saturday night.

The movie-themed parade featured several entries including the First Runner-Up Silent Run Baptist Church float and Second Runner-Up Hancock Bank and Trust Co.

Pride Elementary teacher Beulah Mosley said teachers worked on the “Polar Express” float for a month leading up to the parade. Educators handed out hot chocolate and candy to parade goers, while students and other participants rode on the “train.”

“We did the Hot Chocolate Dance from the Polar Express movie for the judges,” the teacher said. “It was a lot of fun, and our school janitor, Trey Brasher, was the train conductor, while Nick Cannon played our homeless man.”

Hot Chocolate dancers were Cierra Gonzalez, Kellie Parson, Ashley Brewer, Taylor Enright and Mosley.

Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church won Best Decorated Vehicle and Anton Volunteer Fire Department was selected as Best Decorated Fire Truck.
