Police LightMADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/18/19) — A Madisonville driver faces charges after city officers reported finding her unresponsive behind the wheel at a drug store parking lot off North Main Street.

A Madisonville Police Department arrest report lists police responded to the 7:50 p.m. Tuesday call, where they found a woman and her 4-year-old son in the front seat of a Ford Escape. A child safety seat was in the back.

When Kasi J. Hayes was outside of the vehicle, she exhibited behavior unrelated to “any medical condition,” police wrote, and was unsteady on her feet. Officers determined Hayes was under the influence of benzodiazepines.

“Her intoxication placed her and her son as well as the general community in danger or serious physical injury or death, while she drove on the streets of town,” police reported. Hayes admitted to taking “liquid benzo.” One officer indicated her bottle of suboxone prescription filled Tuesday was “half-empty, already.”

Hayes was charged with aggravated DUI and first-degree wanton endangerment.

 

MPD also released the following reports today:

Jyreke Deante Stum of Madisonville was charged Sept. 18 with DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Lauren K. Fergerson of Madisonville was charged Sept. 17 with first-degree criminal trespassing.

James Charles Williams of Louisville was charged Sept. 17 with failure to pay court costs or fines (Hardin County).

Kelvin Keith Bell of Madisonville was charged Sept. 17 with felony probation violation (Christian County).

Nicole Cunningham of Madisonville was charged Sept. 17 with failure to pay court costs or fines.

Jason Scott Nelson of Clay was charged Sept. 17 with contempt of court and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
