UPDATE: NORTONVILLE, Ky. (9/18/19) — No one was reported injured during a blaze that claimed a house in Nortonville this afternoon.

Fire officials say it was a total loss at 203 Mockingbird Lane. Multiple fire crews from area departments worked to gain control of the situation, as smoke and flames billowed from the structure. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is unknown.

The resident, Floyd Humpheries Jr., was not at home when the fire broke out.

NORTONVILLE, Ky. (9/18/19) — Multiple fire agencies have been called out this afternoon to a structure fire at 203 Mockingbird Lane in Nortonville, near the Cat’s Den diner.

Nortonville, South Hopkins, White Plains and St. Charles volunteer fire departments were dispatched just before 1 p.m. today.

Central Dispatch just called on other fire departments for mutual aid including Madisonville.

It is unknown whether anyone is inside the burning home. SurfKY News Reporter Ladonna Kay Lee is working to obtain more information at the scene.
