crash 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/10/19) — A Madisonville driver was injured during a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Seminary and Sugg streets this afternoon.

Madisonville Police Department officers responded to the 2:50 p.m. incident, reporting Thula Brooks, 91, was stopped at the stop sign in a Kia Soul, facing east. The driver of a Chevy Equinox, identified as 54-year-old Cynthia Watts of Manitou, was headed north on South Seminary proceeding through the intersection.

Brooks failed to yield right-of-way to Watts, striking the driver’s side of the Chevy, a preliminary traffic report lists.

Brooks was taken to Baptist Health Madisonville via Medical Center Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries, police reported. Madisonville Fire Department assisted.
