Pursuit 2 9 6

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (9/6/19) — A 28-year-old Hanson resident faces felony charges following a police pursuit today.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports Deputy Heath Owens saw the driver of a black four-door sedan run a stop light at the intersection of North Franklin and East Center streets at 12:45 p.m.

The driver, identified as Christopher Cullen, was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed, Owens stated. Owens attempted to stop the vehicle, but Cullen failed to do so.

During a pursuit, Cullen ran another stop light, tried to ram a Kentucky State Police cruiser and “almost struck a Dawson (Springs) Police officer prior to running a civilian off the roadway,” Owens wrote.

Cullen eventually stopped at Charleston Road and Price Loop, according to the report.

Cullen was charged with two counts of disregarding a stop light, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing police, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment-police officer and an additional charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.

He was listed as being held in Hopkins County Jail this evening, pending bond.
