Henderson County LogoHENDERSON, Ky. (10/13/19) — Avoiding an upset, Henderson County held on to defeat visiting Apollo 20-13 in a Class 6A, District 1 football game on Friday night.

With the win Henderson County improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Class 6A, District 1.

Apollo dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the district with the loss.

The Colonels outscored the Eagles 13-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.

Logan Green, Layton Fletcher and Sam Elliott each rushed for one touchdown in Henderson County's win.

Offensively for Apollo, Geoffrery Johnson and Brandon Husk hauled in one touchdown pass reception apiece. Damian Lovinsky and Chase Rhinerson each threw one scoring pass for the Eagles.
