shooting investigation 2 20HENDERSON, Ky. (2/20/20) — Henderson Police Department reports officers were called to Methodist Health this week for a report of two victims being treated for gunshot wounds.

According to an HPD report, investigators say when police arrived at the hospital Monday, one victim had a gunshot to the arm and a second victim was shot twice in the shoulder. The incident was said to have occurred along the 100 block of Rankin Avenue.

One of the victims as well as witnesses were able to identify Justin Ray Brown, 36 of Henderson, as the alleged shooter. A short time later, police say a search warrant was served at Brown’s residence on Shelby Street in Henderson, where a handgun was found in Brown’s bedroom.

Brown was charged with two counts of first-degree assault in connection to the investigation. He was listed as being held in Henderson County Jail on $5,000 bond and no bond on other charges. He was additionally charged with convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Detectives are still investigating.
