fire 2 18

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (2/18/20) — Several fire crews responded to U.S. 41-N near Ellis Park this evening.

A trailer loaded with furniture, a motorcycle and lawnmower burst into flames shortly after 5 p.m. as it was being towed down the highway.

Travel was interrupted along one southbound lane as Baskett and Spottsville fire departments worked to extinguish the flames. Traffic was backed up to the Indiana state line during the rush hour. Henderson Rescue also reported to the scene to assist.

It is believed someone in a car flipped a cigarette butt out their window upon passing the trailer, possibly sparking the fire.
