lane closures and restrictions 300HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (9/19/19) — A contractor for Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans base repairs Friday followed by asphalt paving along a section of U.S. 41-A in southern Henderson County, state highway officials report.

The work zone along U.S. 41-A, from Cairo-Hickory Grove Road intersection at mile point 4.9 extending northward to the 11-mile marker near Kentucky 425 Henderson Bypass intersection, spans a distance of about 6 miles, KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd said.

Todd asks drivers to be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow at various locations along the work zone to facilitate the base repairs. Once the base repairs are completed, the repaired areas will be allowed to settle for about a week.

Todd indicated the contractor plans to return for asphalt paving along this work zone starting around Sept. 30. The paving is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting.

Drivers are required to use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic. Rogers Group is the prime contractor on this $607,834 highway improvement project.
