drug arrests1 300DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (12/17/19) — An early morning traffic stop led to drug arrests at the intersection of Frederica Street and Fairfax Drive.

Daviess County Sheriff’s Office reported a passenger fled from a vehicle into adjacent yards as a deputy was making the 12:40 a.m. traffic stop.

Additional deputies arrived for backup along with Owensboro Police Department officers in a search that led to the apprehension of the passenger identified as Jeramy Hawkins, 42 of Louisville, who was found hiding in a nearby yard.

The driver, Heather Estes, 42 of Louisville, was charged with aggravated DUI (second offense), and Hawkins was served numerous outstanding warrants.

DCSO reported officers found drug-related items in the area Hawkins was found hiding.. In addition, authorities seized 100 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and a large amount of cash from the vehicle.

Estes was additionally charged with careless driving, no insurance, no registration plate, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), second- and third-degree possession of controlled substances.

Hawkins was also charged today with first-degree trafficking in meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree fleeing police, third-degree criminal trespassing, second- and third-degree possession of controlled substances.
