daviess CO ARREST1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (12/10/19) — A Daviess County Sheriff’s Office investigation related to shots fired resulted in two arrests today at an area business.

DCSO reported deputies responded 2:12 p.m. today at 4906 Old Hartford Road. Samuel Burden worked for James Phillip Arnold, when he was told to leave the property after showing up to work under the influence.

A couple hours later, Burden was found in a barn, which sparked another dispute, according to the report. Burden was instructed to leave again, and as he started down the driveway, Burden turned and “made a motion that appears as if he was coming back.”

Deputies reported Arnold fired the gun in an effort to “scare Burden off,” DCSO wrote. No one was injured, but Burden and Arnold were both arrested and taken to Daviess County Jail.

According to the address listing, the incident allegedly occurred at a pet grooming business.

Arnold, 58 of Owensboro, was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.

Burden of Calhoun was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance.
