white arrestOWENSBORO, Ky. (9/19/19) — An Owensboro woman faces multiple charges after police say she took a vehicle from a man at gunpoint then fled from police in it.

Owensboro Police Department spokesman Officer Andrew Boggess said an OPD officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the wee hours of Wednesday morning on Frederica Street, however, the driver would not stop.

Police then found the vehicle parked in a Placid Place driveway, where a man exited the vehicle and the woman drove off in it nearly striking the officer. The man told police the woman had pointed a gun at him and told him not to stop and then to get out when it was eventually stopped. A search for the woman and vehicle were unsuccessful at that point, said OPD.

Later, police located the woman and took her into custody. Aieral N. White, 24, was charged with first-degree robbery, theft by unlawful taking automobile - $500 or more but less than $10,000, first-degree wanton endangerment/police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police/motor vehicle, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/meth – first offense and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.

White is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center.
