JaggersMADISONVILLE, Ky. (10/4/19) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 Department of Highways office announced today that Keirsten Jaggers will serve as the new public information officer effective Sept. 16. Keith Todd will continue to serve as the information officer for District 1.

“I am very excited to be back in the role of information officer with the Department of Highways," Jaggers said in a statement. "I believe my time and experience with the Barren River Area Development District and the District 3 office will allow me to serve District 2 to the best of my abilities.”

She spent 11 years with BRADD as the transportation director, partnering with District 3 to work with state and local officials through the planning process for new highway projects. Hired in 2001 as the first PIO for the Transportation Cabinet, she set a standard for incident management throughout her tenure during the widening of Interstate 65, from the Tennessee state line to Elizabethtown.

Keirsten was born in Iowa, but has spent the majority of her life in Kentucky. She obtained her bachelor of geography and masters of city and regional planning from Western Kentucky University.

“We’re glad Keirsten has joined the District 2 staff,” said Chief District Engineer Deneatra Henderson. “She comes to the position with 20-plus years of experience, and we’re confident she’ll be a valuable asset to our team as we serve the region’s transportation needs.”

Each of Kentucky’s 12 highway districts is assigned a public information officer, charged with handling transportation-related media and public communications, promotional campaigns, special events, educational materials, a district website, and district social media.
