kentucky trans yellow 300WESTERN Ky. (10/4/19) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet released the following information regarding road repair projects in the District 2 area:

Henderson County

US 41-A
Paving operations will begin on Monday, October 7 from Cairo-Hickory Grove Road to just south of Madisonville Road.

US 60 ramps onto US 41 North will close Saturday evening (Oct. 12), remaining closed into Sunday for the application of High Friction Surface material.
Motorists can expect night time ramp closures (8pm-6am) throughout the week of Oct. 14. Work should be completed within a week, weather pending.

Beginning Oct. 8, traffic will be restricted to one lane at the east edge of the Henderson cloverleaf to allow median intersection improvements at the intersection with Richardson Road.

Union

KY 141 – Milling work from KY 1179 to KY 130 beginning Oct. 7.

KY 492 – Milling work from KY 109 to KY 270 to begin Oct. 7.

KY 758 – Milling work from Airline/Herron Road to KY 141 Oct. 7.

US 60 – Intermittent work zones along US 60 from between mile markers 24-26 throughout the week.

Daviess

Crews will be replacing culverts on KY 1456 at the intersection of Hayden Road beginning Oct. 8 with completion on the 9th.
The road will be closed from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm on the 8th with flagging operations on Oct 9.

Christian

Pennyrile Parkway – Remaining work for this route includes the installation of pavement markers and rumble strips. Scheduled for completion next week, weather permitting.

US 41 North to Madisonville is currently under one lane of traffic with temporary signals and is scheduled to open to normal two-lane traffic on Monday.

Millbrooke Drive

Christian/Hopkins

Pennyrile Parkway – Concrete repairs between mile markers 22 and 29 along the southbound lanes.

Hopkins County

KY 112- MP 1.95 to 7.42
Crown Contracting will continue to perform various safety enhancements to the roadway. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

US 41A – MP 0-2
Road builders will continue to perform work adjacent to the roadway. Motorists should expect to be occasionally stopped for short durations to allow construction equipment to cross the road. The project will ultimately widen US 41A to 5 lanes including curb, gutter and sidewalk.

KY 260 – MP 2.14
Jim Smith Contracting is in the final stages of a bridge replacement. Motorists should expect to have the temporary traffic signals to remain in place for several more weeks. The project should be completed this fall.

US 41 – MP 4.197-10.374
Scotty’ Contracting will begin resurfacing operations this week. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

KY 2083 – MP 0-0.891
Scotty’s Contracting will begin resurfacing operations this week. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

KY 138 – MP 0-8.49 (Hopkins)
MP 0-5.86 (McLean)
Roadbuilders will begin repairing base failures, milling edge keys and milling cross slope corrections. The road will ultimately be resurfaced. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

McLean County

KY 56 – MP 3.00-4.42
Scotty’s Contracting will begin resurfacing operations this week. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this fall.

KY 258 – MP 2.845-4.330
Yager Materials will mill edge keys this week. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The road will ultimately be resurfaced. The project should be completed this fall.

KY 2385 – MP 0-4.44
Yager Materials will repair base failures and mill edge keys this week. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The road will ultimately be resurfaced. The project should be completed this fall.

KY 256 MP 0.5
****Road will be closed starting Monday and should be re-opened Wednesday afternoon the Oct. 9.**** A detour will not be signed but motorists should seek an alternate route. KYTC maintenance crews will be replacing a large culvert pipe.


Muhlenberg County:

US 431 – MP 0-28.31
EFI will continue to remove and replace substandard guardrail along this corridor. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers. The project should be completed this winter.

KY 181 – MP 21.2
KYTC maintenance crews will be replacing a culvert pipe. Motorists can expect a one lane road controlled by flaggers.
