fatal collision 3 300CADIZ, Ky. (1/20/20) — Two people suffered fatal injures during a crash Sunday evening at the intersection of U.S. 68 and Kentucky 139 in Cadiz.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 reports Trigg County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance 7:40 p.m. at the scene.

Preliminary investigation shows a gray 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Tyler L. Dodson, 24 of Murray, was traveling west on U.S. 68. Brandon P. Hare, 21 of Cadiz, was going north on Kentucky 139 in a beige 1999 Honda Civic.

KSP reported Hare failed to stop at the sign, and his vehicle was struck in the passenger side. Hare was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hare’s passenger, listed as Jarod A. Ballengee, 20 of Cadiz, was taken to Trigg County Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Dodson and two other passengers, identified as Dorothy S. Dodson, 69 of Fancy, Farm and Mason L. Dodson, 23 of Murray, were taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment. Tyler and Dorothy Dodson were treated and released, while Mason Dodson was transferred to Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Trigg County Coroner requested an autopsy and toxicology test for Hare, KSP indicated.

KSP Reconstructionist James Phelps and Trooper Casey Hamby are continuing the investigation. Trigg County EMS and Rescue in addition to Cadiz Police Department also assisted at the scene.
