flag2 300WASHINGTON, D.C. (1/8/20) — U.S. Rep. James Comer (KY-01) announced the nomination of four students from Christian County to U.S. Service Academies.

Students include Denarius Barnes of Oak Grove, John Cogbill Jr. of Fort Campbell, Javier Bland of Oak Grove and Lilyan Hendricks of Hopkinsville.

Barnes and Bland received nominations to the U.S. Military Academy. They are both students at Hopkinsville High School.

Cogbill Jr. received nominations to the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy. He attends Fort Campbell High School.

Hendricks received nominations to the U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy. She is a student at University Heights Academy.

“It’s my honor to nominate Denarius, John, Javier and Lilyan to U.S. Service Academy posts," Comer said in a statement. "Their hard work in the Christian County community make them strong and qualified candidates for the service academies. I know they will represent their families and communities well. I wish them the best in their years ahead."
