KSP LogoHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (12/18/19) — A Hopkinsville driver was unable to outsmart a trooper following a high-speed pursuit Tuesday night.

Kentucky State Police Post 2 reported Trooper Hunter Carroll spotted a silver Nissan Maxima going northbound along Pennyrile Parkway at a “high rate of speed” at 8:36 p.m.

The trooper switched on the blue lights to make a traffic stop, but the driver kept going, according to the report. The pursuit ensued until the driver took Exit 11.

KSP reported the Nissan was found parked in a residential driveway. The trooper later discovered Albert Lewis Jr., 27, was driving the vehicle.

Lewis was charged with several traffic violations, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing police, first-degree wanton endangerment and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
