Fatal CCSO

UPDATE: CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (7/29/19) — Christian County Sheriff’s Office identified the names of individuals involved in Friday’s fatal collision near mile-marker 3 of Pennyrile Parkway.

Golden Euler, 72 of Evansville, was driving a Nissan Pathfinder 4:50 a.m. southbound, when the vehicle struck the back left, rear tire axle of a tractor-trailer driven by Bernard H. Jackson, 58 of Linton, Indiana, according to a CCSO report.

The impact caused Euler’s vehicle to flip over, CCSO indicated. Jackson told deputies he felt the force of the impact and saw the Pathfinder flip three or four times through the truck’s mirror, and then he pulled over. The Pathfinder was on the road with no lights illuminating the vehicle.

Another driver identified as Jose C. Felipe Gabriel, 38 of Hopkinsville, stated he was driving on the right side lane and began avoiding debris on the road, giving him no time to stop or avoid striking the Pathfinder. The impact forced Euler’s vehicle into a 180-degree spin.

Euler was treated and released from Skyline Medical Center following the crash. Her passengers, identified as Doug Euler, 76 of Evansville, Jennifer Hoffman, 25 of Fort Branch, Indiana and Kimberly Haley, 46 of Cynthiana, Indiana, died as a result of the crash.

Gabriel was taken to Jennie Stuart Hospital for treatment of injuries and Jackson was not reported injured.
