University Heights logoMORGANFIELD, Ky. (1/4/20) — University Heights remained in the loss column as host Union County pulled away to win 47-39 in a girls' high school basketball game on Friday.

Longtime 2nd Region rivals, University Heights and Union County met for the first time in the 2019-20 girls' high school basketball season. 

With the loss, University Heights dropped to 4-6.

Union County improved to 6-5 with the win.

Homestanding Union County led 27-14 at halftime.

Mati Hagan paced Union County, scoring a game-high 17 points. Emily Hibbs accompanied Hagan in double figures for Union County, netting 12 points.

Lily Hendricks carried University Heights, scoring 14 points. Hendricks was the only University Heights player to reach double figures in the scoring column. Nearly reaching double figures in scoring, Aniah Dailey added eight points for the Lady Blazers.
