big red roseHOPKINSVILLE, KY., — Agnes Thompson Delaney, 90, of Hopkinsville passed away at 7:27pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living at Clarksville, TN. Agnes, a native of Hopkinsville was born December 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Obie Samuel and Emma Brashear Thompson. On February 18, 1955 Agnes married Arnold Albert Delaney. They were married for 63 loving years. Agnes spent her entire adult life serving in Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. She worked in the cafeteria in the Christian County school system for 20 years and worked at Joy’s Jewelers for 5 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Delaney, her brothers Harold Thompson, Hillman Thompson, Volney Thompson, her sisters Flora Thompson and Abigail Thompson.

Survivors include her sons Russell (Patricia) Delaney of Hopkinsville and Mark (Amanda) Delaney of Evansville, IN., her grandchildren Lindsay Pat Delaney (Allen) Flood, Jordan Leigh Delaney (Robert) Papajeski, her great grandchildren Carter Eli Papajeski, Noah Travis Flood, and Grace Kenleigh Papajeski.

Service will be at 2pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Crofton. Burial will follow at Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton, KY.

Visitation will be from 12noon until the funeral hour. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Crofton is in charge of the arrangements.
