apollo eagles logo 2015OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/21/19) — Apollo returned to the win column on Friday night, defeating visiting Meade County 49-28 in a high school football game.

The victory over Meade County allowed Apollo to halt a three-game losing skid. 

With the win, Apollo improved to 2-3.

Meade County dropped to 2-2 with the loss.

Apollo jumped ahead 14-0 in the opening quarter and eventually led 28-8 at halftime.

The Eagles piled up 428 yards of total offense in the winning effort. Through the air for Apollo, quarterback Damian Lovinsky completed 10 of 18 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown. Showing his versatility, Lovinsky rushed for 14 times for 142 yards and two TDs. Running back Harold Hogg paced Apollo on the ground, rushing 21 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Jarrod Gray and Cameron Baker combined to lead Apollo defensively, recording 15 tackles and 13 tackles, respectively.
