Owensboro Red DevilsOWENSBORO, Ky. (9/21/19) — Visiting Owensboro dominated on Friday night, defeating rival Daviess County 55-17 in a high school football game.

With the win, Owensboro improved to 4-1.

Daviess County dropped to 1-4 with the loss.

Owensboro set the tone early, outscoring Daviess County 21-7 in the first quarter. The Red Devils led 35-14 at halftime and remained in control throughout the second half.

The Red Devils amassed 438 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Gavin Wimsatt led Owensboro to the win, completing 20 of 35 passes for 245 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Wimsatt rushed eight times for 46 yards and three touchdowns.

Treyvon Tinsley led Owensboro in receiving, reeling in eight receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

Ethan Avery paced the Red Devils on the ground, rushing 15 times for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Daviess County was limited to 221 yards of total offense. The Panthers struggled to keep the football, committing three fumbles and throwing one interception.

Daviess County quarterback Joe Humphreys rushed for one touchdown and passed for another TD. Humphreys completed eight of 21 passes for 60 yards. Isaiah Tomes was on the receiving end of Humphreys' scoring pass.

Shane Riley led Daviess County on the ground, rushing 16 times for 82 yards.
